'The Hara' - 2018

I worked collaboratively in Manchester as a team for a project that we produced with the band 'The Hara'. Setting up the studio, assisting with set design, call sheets, camera cards and scripts. From the band being mic'd up, ensuring their levels were crisp to ensuring the target audience was reached, weeks of research made this production possible.

BBC Radio Manchester Sport Relief - 2018

For Sport Relief 2018, BBC Reporter Inzy Rashid completed the BBC's big Tryatholon. By editing the footage on Final Cut Pro I set titles, speed of the clip and which elements of footage would be used, along with uploading this to Radio Manchester's Facebook page.

Todays The Day - 2017

This production, based in Salford, allowed me to grasp just how much goes into production. Managing contributors, assisting with Lighting and Set Design as a Runner, along with ensuring camera cables wouldn't interfere with sound, my role was varied and will definitely help me going forward, as my mind set adapted through helping with multiple crew.
LandLady's Last Orders - 2017

Filmed in MediaCityUK, this production was my first industry experience of utilising studio to it's full potential. Being the engineer my timekeeping of not only the script, but all the roles of the production of the programme was vital, in ensuring it ran smoothly. In addition to this, co-producing the VT's and Set Design, my imaginative outlook on different perceptions were crucial in ensuring little to no time was wasted.

Cartoonist - Working Life - 2016

Interviewing Dan's life as a freelancer was an experience that I got solely from researching and gathering a small production crew. My role as director was calling the shots and selecting specific questions that the audience would want to know and identify with. The most challenging element of this product was the editing. This is because once I had all the footage, selecting the right questions was tough. I didn't want to loose the audience but I wanted to select components that made an intriguing narrative and built an insight about Freelance cartoon work.

RUN - 2015

This was the trailer for my first involvement of short films that I was director for and created with a crew of 6, although I acted too.  Filmed in Grange Park woods, we found that this was a perfect location as it gave us the opportunity to act upon the narrative and expand upon our original ideas. As the location, and framing of specific shots providing an intriguing view for the audience,  our final production gave away any enigma codes that remained from the trailer.

Help Your Health - Final Project

This is my final project at Salford University, a 45 minute production for a radio programme in the style of a BBC Radio 4 format. With the show focusing on maternal mental health week, along with the importance of social media health, this production is packed with contributors, quizzes and most importantly vital information helping your health.

Oh My God

This is a radio programme made to give an insight into different religions. With such diverse culture in today's world, there are a variety of religions and ways about life, others don't think about, so this production brings together all religions, informing and educating listeners about different forms of life.

Madchester Records

From being based in Manchester for 3 years, I decided to do a show based all around the Manchester's music. Focusing on the Manchester music scene, we speak to those at BBC Introducing, Star & Garter and Dave Haslam all about The Haçienda.

Producing this package for radio show, Madchester Records on Utter Radio allowed the use of my journalism skills to phrase questions. Whilst understanding the power of music Manchester has, I wanted to also undercover what is required to break into the industry as an upcoming band. From using the software 'Highlander' and 'Adobe Audition' to edited this interview, I wanted to engage subjectively, whilst utilising the sound bed to pace the interview.

Coronation Street Tours Advertisement

From researching into productions which shape Manchester, Coronation Street is the longest running soap within the UK. Therefore I decided to produce a fictional advert to promote the tours for the ITV soap within the Madchester Records programme. From including real clips within the edit, it brought to life the advert, informing and entertaining listeners. All while highlighting what the show is all about, and why it has been so popular for nearly 6 decades!

When creating the 'Clips of the Week' I sourced all the audio from Radio Monitor which I then downloaded and edited so that the reaction for the listener would be comical. Furthermore, the rapport between presenters Paul and Andy, made the production flow smoothly as they knew what clips I chose. But with the addition of stings and idents, the podcast is made for the listener's enjoyment as it focuses on the bloopers made throughout the week.

What If Show - Oliver Dennett

What If Show

This production, made for the purpose of explaining possible alternative solutions to events was made with a certain demographic in mind. With everyone in the group involved in editing and producing content and researching facts, this got nominated for a BAFTAR Award 2018 at Salford University for the 'Best Radio Studio Show Level 5'. Although it didn't win it managed to gain recognition with industry poffessionals.

Idiot Parking - BBC Radio Manchester

This short vox was made to get the views and opinions of the local Greater Manchester public on what was the worst bit of parking they had ever seen. With an aim to highlight the point of how bad parking has become, accessibility is also an issue as a knock on effect. Editing on 'Dira!', this gave me an opportunity to also learn a new software.

This was an interview I conducted about what it is like to work in the heart of MediaCityUK, with Dockyard Manager, Dan Cooper. Creating the questions and recording the audio for cutaways, this 2 minute piece gave me an insight about the environment and daily challenges that are faced and dealt with regularly.

Milton Keynes College

This radio advertisement was a final product I had created for promoting MK College. Whilst I highlight the attributes of the college as a whole, I discuss what opportunities and advantages are available to grab the attention of the youthful target audience. I believe this is the way to get students in the correct, positive mindset within a short 40 seconds.

This on location package was recorded using a Marantz Recorder 661 at the Manchester markets. Highlighting the different food cultures and getting flavours for what it was like to work and trade in the food industry. Getting Brice as talent, made the content alive, as he's had first hand experience. Utilising background sound added an extra layer allowing the listeners to get a sense of the lifestyle involved. Interviewing Brice I ensured the levels were clear and crisp, so the listener could enjoy and embrace the package as much as possible.

Fictional Advertisement

Creating a fictional advertisement for educational purposes allowed content to be created with free reign. As the dialog was scripted, the delivery was vital to attracting the right listeners. Having the ability to work with audacity gave me editing software required to build layers for the content that was produced as the final edit.
